Meet Team HG: Natalie Ricker — Digital Marketing Manager

Welcome to the HG blog post series, #MeetTeamHG, where we will be posting an interview with each person on our executive team!

Natalie joined Harvest Growth as Digital Marketing Manager in May 2022. She went to Biola University and received her bachelor’s degree in English, with an emphasis in writing. She’s been in the digital marketing industry for the last 12 years, primarily in the automotive business. She moved from California to Denver in 2013 and has loved it ever since! She never knew how much she loved to hike until she set foot in the Colorado mountains. In her free time, she loves to see her friends on Taco Tuesdays, go salsa dancing, play ping pong, and go hiking.

Learn more about Natalie in her team interview below!

How long have you been in the marketing/advertising industry?

I have been in the digital marketing industry for 12 years! Like a lot of English majors who didn’t know what to do with their bachelor’s degree, I too fell into the digital marketing world, and I’m so happy I did. Don’t get me wrong – writing short stories or a young adult fiction book was a blast in college, but this was a great career choice to incorporate this creative side of my personality.

What advice would you give yourself if you could go back to Day 1 of your career?

I would tell myself to avoid being complacent at all costs, even if it’s comfortable, and to take more risks to grow your career. Surround yourself with a work environment that promotes growth, positivity, and support – much like Harvest Growth!

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in sunny Orange County, California. I never knew what it was like to have seasons, so living in Colorado has been an experience! Even though I always lived close to the beach, I didn’t go as often as people may think. To me beaches mean big crowds, frizzy hair, sand in my bathing suit, and freezing cold water. I’m definitely more of a mountain girl!

Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?

I’ve never been mistaken for a celebrity, but recently I was told by a girl from Bed Bath and Beyond that I look like Nikki Reed from Twilight (she had just re-watched it on Netflix). That may be my most random one yet! Also, when I left my hair curly, I was told I resembled Jessica Szohr from Gossip Girl. Sidenote – I think I look nothing like these ladies, but am flattered just the same.

Favorite recent brand experience?

One of my favorite clothing stores is Express, and I love watching all their fun reels on Instagram and all the creative ways they advertise their clothes.

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

“Am I hungry or just bored?” — The Autobiography of Natalie Ricker.

Favorite quote?

“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”

Least favorite chore?

Cleaning my bathroom mirror, sink/vanity. I swear I clean it and it lasts one day. What is the point?

If you could go to any concert (dead or alive), who would it be?

Selena!

What is your hidden talent?

I love all types of dancing. I’ve taken some salsa/bachata classes and by no means am an expert but I can keep up!

Least favorite word?

When people say “supposably” instead of “supposedly.”

What would you do if you won $1,000,000?

Buy a bunch of properties! And take a fun vacation in the Maldives where I can stay in one of those over-the-water bungalows (with a water slide, of course!)
